The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has published a new report in 2022 on radiation protection in dental radiology.
Safety Report Series No. 108 gives a comprehensive overview of the current knowledge and best practices of radiation safety in dentistry, and is a valuable resource for dental practitioners, maxillofacial radiologists and medical physicists interested in radiation safety. Contents include a description of current X-ray technology, principles for radiation protection of the patient and staff, justification and clinical indications for X-ray examinations, and imaging optimisation guidelines.
